Nova Siri between sea, nature and atmosphere

Ionian coast of Basilicata

Nova Siri: a treasure of Basilicata on the Ionian coast

Nova Siri, located on the Ionian coast of Basilicata, is a tourist destination that continues to grow thanks to its wide sandy beaches and its strategic position in the heart of Magna Graecia. Although the original settlement stands on a hill, the town has expanded down to the coast, becoming a flourishing summer holiday destination.

Nova Siri is an ideal base for exploring the historical and cultural attractions of the area, such as the archaeological sites of Taranto, Matera, Metaponto, Policoro, Tricarico, Vaglio, Venosa, Grumento Nova, Sibari and Crotone. With a rich history dating back to Magna Graecia, Nova Siri also offers a wide variety of natural landscapes, from mountains to hills and down to low sandy beaches.

The Lucanian coast is very attractive to visitors thanks to the wide choice of hotels, restaurants and nightlife venues. Tourists can also enjoy sports activities such as sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing, as well as scuba diving. The area south of the town is particularly suitable for these activities because the coastline becomes rockier.

Nova Siri is easily reached by railway (FFSS line Milan-Crotone-Taranto-Sibari) and by State Road 106, which runs about one kilometre from the beach. In addition, the town is easy to reach by car from Bari or Naples via the motorways A16 and A3.
